How to get 60% assurance that you'll pass any exam

Professional and academic exams | British Council

Examination has been the worst nightmare most students have ever had in their life. In recent times, we have seen a lot of students performing woefully in their examinations throughout the whole wide world. I can understand that my readers re eager and anxious to know how a student can be at least 60% assured that he/she will pass an examination even without entering the exam hall yet. There is no much worries, I’ll try as much as possible to be straight forward without wasting much of your time.
However, it should be noted that there are 3 aspects which determine your success in any examination which are the Physical, Psychological and Divine aspects. This write up will mainly focus on the Physical and the Psychological aspects. As for the Divine aspect, we all know that everything is in the Hands of God and that’s where prayer comes in for God to intervene.
As I said earlier, I’ll try to make everything simple and straight forward. So, to give yourself at least 60% assurance that you will pass an exam, you have to take note of the following:

No student can pass any exam if he or she doesn’t read all what is required of him except the student is ready to engage in examination malpractice. This is a fact that must be told because there is no other legal way to pass than reading. Mind you, when reading, read every sentence word for word and don’t pick out only points, definitions, headings or sub-headings to read unless you don’t have much time for extensive reading. In spite of this, the student should read till the last full stop. I could remember my father’s friend telling me that I must read all the pages in my notebook including the book cover in order to pass my exams.

Most students fail in their exams due to their lack of confidence or anxiety. Self-confidence is very important for any student who wants to pass his/her exams. How can you pass an exam if you don’t believe that you can? I don’t think that’s feasible! A proverb says, “To be a champion, you have to believe in yourself when nobody else will”
Moreover, the only secret behind being confident and believing in yourself is the level of your reading. As far as you have read all what is required of you, then the confidence will always be there for you. I just wonder why some students still get afraid after reading all what are required of them for the exam. This only creates unnecessary anxiety in such students and off course affects their performance. We also have some students who are so over-confident in themselves to the extent that they read less. Although some make it but most of them end up in regret sincerely. You can only be confident if you read!

This is very psychological. Some examiners are very good in failing students psychologically even before they write their exam. In this case, the student must be very smart to deduct the message that the examiner is trying to pass across with every single instruction. We have so many cases in which the time of the examination can be suddenly be rescheduled, sudden request for particulars or anything, creating unfavorable condition for the students in the exam hall, prohibition of the use of some instrument at late hours e.g calculators, inadequate broadcasting of information about the exam and just to mention a few. All these are used by examiners to win the students psychologically. So, be smart!

Understanding the reason why you must pass an examination is also very important. This helps to boost your morale and of course, encourages good performance. Always remember the reason why you must pass while writing the exam and most importantly, never give up on any question!

Lastly, if any student wants to trash any examination, he or she have to read extensively, believe in him/her self, be smart and always remember the purpose of writing her exam to boost his/her morale. I bet you! No matter what happens, you’ll always pass above average.

The danger of hiding who you really are

One of the greatest harm one can do to oneself is to pretend to be someone else or trying hiding one's true personality. By the time you find out the consequences, believe me, it will be really hard to forgive yourself. Never ever stop yourself from loving who you really are because that's where your pride and strengths lies. Let's join Morgana Bailey in this video as she relates the pains she passed through while hiding who she really is....

Why women are still under the servitude of men

Presently in the world today, we have a lot of Activists who are protesting against gender inequality and are clamoring for gender equality throughout the whole world. Most cultural belief is that the female gender are not as worthy as the male gender. In fact some past civilizations, for example, the Greek’s (believed to be the greatest civilization) and the Roman’s civilization believed that the women are the source of evil of in the society and they are also used for sex and pleasure. Although, this has greatly reduce in recent times but it’s still quite unfortunate that the women are still indirectly under the servitude of men in the society.
Personally, I try to reflect and find out the reason why women or let me say ladies still find themselves under the servitude of men  in the society and what I was able to find out is that, most women or ladies don’t have the ideology of having full control over their life. Women are too dependent on men in so many ways beyond the reasonable limits. Most women believe that any responsibility which requires any extra effort must be taken up by men only, even despite this saying, “what a man can do, a woman can do better” which is now rampant in the world of ladies. There are a lot of debates about this saying but what amuse me most is that any lady who hears this will surely agree with you but only about 5% of them will be ready to prove it for you.
Ladies need to learn how to be independent. This is just a fact that must be told. You don’t have to be looking up to your husband, boyfriend or any man every time, learn how to stand on your own.

In addition to this, ladies are very poor in building their own career. What do I mean? Yes, I agree that now the female gender are now given the chance to be educated by sending them to school compare to the olden days but believe me, there is still a little of this ideology in their head that “all their education will still end up in their husband’s kitchen” and this keeps hindering them from trying to build a career on some professional courses. Although, this may not be happening in some civilized countries but this is still happening in so many countries around the world especially in Africa.
Indeed, this article will not be fair enough without mentioning this, “Marriage”. I can’t just point out the reason why ladies do feel that the best time for them to get married is between the ages of 20 to 25. It is believed that it’s very wrong to be a spinster at the age of 26 and above because they feel that at these ages, ladies begin to lose their beauty. To certain extent, I agree with this point but to me, I think the point is not tangible enough for ladies to jump into marriage so early at the expense of what they have planned to achieve or become in life. There are cases in which most female students gave up their aims and goals of studying some professional courses which will take them longer years before they finish their programs in school just because they want to get married before they clock 25.

However, it’s a pity that most ladies don’t even seem to realize that most of their husbands still don’t appreciate them despite the fact that they got married to them when they are looking as beautiful as they can ever be in their life. According to statistics, 60 percent of marriages for couples between the ages of 20 and 25 end in divorce and those who wait to marry until they are over 25 years old are 24 percent less likely to get divorced..

For couples who are even younger, the prognosis becomes bleaker still.  In their article titled “Cohabitation, Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage in the United States,” cited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), M.D. Bramlett and W.D. Mosher found that nationally, 59% of marriages to women who were younger than 18 at the time of marriage will end in divorce within 15 years.  In other words, nearly two thirds of all marriages to teenaged women fail within two decades.
According to the CDC, in 2011, the divorce rates by age group and gender were:
  • 27.6% of women aged 19 or younger
  • 11.7% of men aged 19 or younger
  • 36.6% of women aged 20-24
  • 38.8% of men aged 20-24
But at 25, something dramatic happens.  Statistics show that the divorce rates plummet by nearly halffor both genders:
  • 16.4% of women aged 25-29 (compared with 36.6% for the average 24-year-old woman)
  • 22.3% of men aged 25-29 (compared with 38.8% for the average 24-year-old man)

Why is 25 the “Magic Number” for Successful Marriages?
We’ve established that once people hit 25 years old, the divorce rate seems to plummet because many experts chalk it up to lack of emotional experience, insufficient financial support, and hasty unions.
Jennifer Glass, sociology professor at the University of Texas at Austin, says, “It appears that the cessation of education, early marriage and early parenthood, you’re set up for relationship conflict, financial stress and dissolution.”  Glass’ theory ties neatly into Naomi Cahn’s assertion that the continuation of education and late marriage (and consequent late parenthood) is the driving forces behind marital success.  It’s a classic case of what goes up, must come down.
Some experts think that the older couples are at the time of their marriage, the more hobbies they’re likely to share in common.  Paul Amato, a sociologist at Pennsylvania State University, says, “Older marriages (30s versus 20s) were more cohesive in the sense that they did things together more often as a couple.”
Andrew Cherlin, a sociologist from Johns Hopkins University, supports Amato’s ideas.  Cherlin says, “People are more concerned with their own self-development than they used to be.  Therefore, people are postponing marriage until everything in their lives is working ‘in order.’  The order means after you’ve finished your education, perhaps after beginning your career… they’re postponing marriage until they think they’re ready for it.”
Perhaps the end of Cherlin’s statement is the most important: “until they think they’re ready for it” is a telling fragment.  It implies that couples who rush into marriage when they’re young — perhaps even fresh out of high school, with limited knowledge of their own hopes, dreams, and capabilities — simply lack the experiential tools to know whether or not they are “ready.”  They marry because their friends are getting married, because it’s what’s accepted by (or even expected in) the community, and whether or not they’re actually preparedfalls by the wayside.
Kay Moffett thinks this may be the root of the problem.  Moffett, author of Not Your Mother’s Divorce: A Practical Guide to Surviving the End of a Young Marriage, says, “I advise couples to wait until they’re in their late 20s to marry. This allows for a period of identity exploration and a time to figure one’s self out.  Most couples who plunge into wedlock early do so for the wrong reason.”

Conclusively, I hope that this article will help to encourage the women folks to contribute more to the society and should not limit their potentials beyond measure. Although, naturally men has more responsibilities in the society more than the women but this should not discourage the women from social participation.

Do you know that giving out bonuses, incentives or any kind of reward in other to motivate can lead to poor performances?

Researches have made us to realize that giving rewards or incentives are not the best strategy which can be used to motivate people as this often leads to poor performances or output in businesses. This is also applicable to some cases in which the parents will try to motivate their child or children in order to perform well in school or do well in other tasks.Sometimes, the child may have problem with his emotional or psychological states which of course cannot be solved with any kind of reward, bonuses or gifts. Check out the video below to learn more about the puzzle of motivation.
